There are many good network marketing companies throughout the world that have the following things going for them:

Longevity & financial stability

Excellent business reputation

Outstanding products & services

Lucrative compensation plans

But most of these same companies train their distributors to use outdated, ineffective sales and marketing methods that virtually guarantee failure for 97% of their sales force. That’s insane! But they use the same old training because they believe it is easily duplicatable. I don’t know about you, but I don’t want that failure rate duplicated in my downline. I want the folks I’m working with to have the very best possible chance of attaining their goals and dreams.

The best way I’ve found to help people succeed in their business, is to get them trained to use the internet for attraction marketing - help them learn to attract prospects instead of chasing prospects. There are several reasons network marketing companies don’t teach their distributors how to do this:

They don’t know about attraction marketing and how it works

If they do know about it, they think it’s not duplicatable because you can’t learn it in an afternoon

The training and tools cost money over and above the MLM’s sign-up and product costs

Trying to get people to engage in the necessary training would create a high drop-out rate

It boggles my mind that these companies are content to simply sign up any warm body, and then, with very minimal training, unleash them on unsuspecting groups of friends and families to completely turn these people off to their products and services. - And then go back and duplicate the failure again and again. That’s the bad news about network marketing.

The Good News About Network Marketing

The good news is that with the right training, persistence, and some elbow grease, almost anyone can succeed in this industry. Of course, the gumption and persistence are up to you. So, where does one get the right training, you may ask? Well, there are many sources for learning attraction marketing and the computer skills necessary to implement it. Some of them are even free. Many of them are very expensive.

My experience has been that while some resources are free, the free resources are scattered all over cyberspace. Plus, there is no cohesive roadmap as to exactly what information will help and how to effectively implement the knowledge that is available. I’ve found the same thing to be true of some of the very expensive programs and information products that are available. When you are trying to get a business up and running quickly, you don’t want to waste time or money trying to figure all this stuff out. You need a system that will train you in the necessary steps to start making money. These steps include:

Putting up a website

Effective copywriting

Setting up an autoresponder

Understanding various marketing methods

Developing a marketing campaign

Learning what to do with prospects once you find them

Training and coaching your downline

Trying to put all this together without structured guidance is difficult, at best. It is impossible for most people. Fortunately, there is reasonably priced training available for the internet marketing beginner that covers all the fundamentals. If you are interested in finding out more, leave your contact information below, and I will email you some material that will help you make an informed decision about how you want to grow your business.

If you’re new to the idea of generating leads for your MLM on-line, the first and most
important action you need to take is to put up a website or blog. This is your cyber
real estate, and the most essential tool you can have in your marketing arsenal. It is
key to every aspect of your lead generation. Today, I’ll go through a few of the ways
to use your site.

But before I get into that, let’s talk a little bit about what to put on your site to make it
effective. People go on-line for a lot of reasons, but one of the top reasons is to find
information. Google’s rise to prominence as a search engine came about because they
were so good at providing relevant results for people who were looking for information.

So, the best thing you can do to make your website or blog relevant to your visitors
and to the search engines, is to put high-quality, relevant information on your site.
Much of the high-quality content on your site needs to be available at no charge to
your visitors. This information also needs to be updated on a regular basis by adding
pages or posts.

Now, for some of the ways to use your site:
- To position yourself as a leader or an authority in your industry, someone people
want to follow. As alluded to above, when you provide good, relevant content
on your site, people realize that you know what you’re talking about and that you
may be able to help them be successful. They are attracted to you.

- To acquire contact information from people, so that you can build a relationship
with them via e-mail, mail, Skype, social networking sites, telephone, etc. This
can open up several different avenues of communication with which you can
further establish credibility with your prospects.

- To market relevant products to your prospects, tools that will help them succeed.
There are many ways to market products to your prospects, but affiliate programs
are probably the easiest to get started with. Promoting the right products will help
you in two ways. First, the sales will help you cover your expenses whether the
prospect joins you or not. Second, the right products can help pre-sell the prospect
on the idea of joining your business or the need for additional products.

Of course, it is best if you can market your own products, but that’s pretty hard
when you’re first getting started. Just be sure that the affiliate products you
promote on your site are relevant to your site content, and they deliver top quality
for the money. Promoting inferior or non-applicible products will hurt your credibility.

- To expand the ways in which you can prospect, both on-line and off-line. Being able
to send prospects to your own quality, information-filled website can help to pre-sell
people on joining you in your business. There are many ways in which to get people
to visit your site. Here’s a short list:

Classified ads - on-line and off-line in newspapers, magazines, trade publications, etc.
Search engine advertising on Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc.
Social networking sites like MySpace, Facebook, Twitter, Squidoo, and many others
Writing articles and press releases, on-line and off-line

There are many other ways to use your website or blog, but I hope this gives you a starting
point. For help with the technical aspects of getting a site going I can recommend an excellent
video series that gives you step-by-step instructions and some excellent marketing tips.

All the buzz these days on the internet is about Attraction Marketing and having a Sales Funnel.
If you’re new to using the internet for Network Marketing, or for that matter, using the internet
for any type of marketing, you may not be familiar with these concepts and the role they can
play in building your business.

So what are Attraction Marketing and Sales Funnels? What role do they play in Network
Marketing? Well, there are a LOT of people out here in cyberspace who would like to charge
you big bucks to find out. I’m not one of them. Granted, I want to make money, too, just like
you, but there are some very good free and reasonably priced resources available to help you.
I’ll be telling you about some of them on this blog site.

But first, what is Attraction Marketing? Attraction Marketing, in its simplest terms, is attracting
customers to you, instead of you chasing customers (or prospects). On-line, just as in other
types of marketing, one of the best ways to attract customers is to build a relationship with
people so they understand that you are a person they can trust - someone who is interested
in helping them achieve their goals.

Nearly all of the Attraction Marketing models on-line will tell you that the best way to start
building that relationship is to give away something of value for free - usually information that
can be digitally delivered for little or no cost to the marketer. The purpose of the give-away
is to get the customer or prospect into the “Sales Funnel” or “Marketing Funnel.”

In order to receive the free information, the customer almost always has to give their e-mail
address and opt-in to receiving e-mails from the marketer. There is nothing wrong with this.
The customer receives something of value, and the marketer gets something of value, a way
to market to a very interested prospect.

This is where the trust-building starts. If the marketer’s free product delivers on the promise
of being relevant and useful to the customer, the customer is likely to open the marketer’s
e-mails. If the marketer continues to provide relevant, useful information in his or her e-mails,
the prospect is likely to buy products from the marketer, because trust has been established.

The customer was “attracted” by the free offer and then continues to be “attracted” to the
offers of the marketer, because the marketer delivered on his or her promises. The customer
is now in the marketer’s “Funnel”.

The “Sales Funnel” model is used to describe this process, because at first, lots of people
opt-in for the free product. Then fewer people buy the marketer’s initial offering and even
fewer buy subsequent offerings, which are usually increasing in price. The customer base
grows smaller and smaller, but the customers at the small end of the “Funnel” are very
good customers. They are the ones spending thousands of dollars to attend the marketer’s
workshops, and buying the premium products.

What does this have to do with Network Marketing, you ask? Well, for the Network Marketer,
the premium product is sold when the customer or prospect joins the marketer’s MLM. The
selling doesn’t necessarily stop there. The savvy Network Marketer knows that the people
in his or her downline need tools and resources to be successful at duplicating the whole
process, and makes those tools available through affiliate programs. The marketer teaches
their downline to do the same.

The good Network Marketer goes out of his or her way to help guide their prospects to those
products and tools that are going to give their prospect the absolute best chance for success.
Affiliate sales are nice. They help pay the overhead. But as we all know, the real money in
Network Marketing is in building a downline that can duplicate and leverage your efforts.

These days, very few people are building substantial downlines using the old-style recruiting
efforts taught by most MLM companies. If you are presently with a company, you’ve already
found out how hard it is to get anyone to join your business. That’s where Attraction Marketing
comes in. You are marketing to people who know what Network Marketing is, and they are
interested in making money by that means. And they come to you - you don’t chase them.

It makes all the difference in the world in your recruiting efforts. If you’re interested in seeing

In my other life, aside from being a successful network marketer and internet marketer,
I am a master electrician and have a small electrical contracting business in Trinidad,
Colorado. I started this business 11 years ago and still enjoy it.

I live just outside of town where it’s nice and quiet. The only thing I don’t like about
where I am, is there’s no high-speed internet available except for satellite. It is better
than dial-up, but no where near as fast as I would like it to be. That’s a small price to
pay for being out here with the trees and the critters. There are rabbits, squirrels, deer,
coyotes, foxes, bears and lots of other four-leggeds out here, and I’m only 10 minutes
from downtown.

I love to sing with choral groups. I’m an alto. I also serve on our local Ambulance District’s
board of directors. In other community service, my company does all the wiring for the
Habitat for Humanity homes here.

I live with my partner Kelly, and we have 2 dogs of questionable pedigree. Sheeba Jane
Punkin Butter is a 90 pound Pyrenees mix, and Scooter Rooter Dooder Dog Boy is a 50
pound poodle mix. Ain’t we got fun?

Every year around April 15, the hummingbirds start to arrive. 4 species summer here: the
black chin, ruby throat, rufous, and occasionally the calliope. The calliope is the smallest
bird on the planet, and thanks to global warming, it now comes to my feeders in Colorado.

There are so many trees around here that it’s a perfect summer breeding ground for the
hummers. Each year, the number of hummers grows. Last summer, I put out ten 1-quart
feeders and was going through about 2 gallons of hummingbird food a day. It’s like a super
busy airport around here with all the little birds. It’s so awesome. I’ll take some pictures
this summer and post them here.

I’m 57 years young and loving life. This is a fine ride we’re all on. Let’s enjoy it together and
all help each other to live it to the fullest!

Whether you generate leads on-line, in person, or buy leads, eventually you
have to talk to people if you’re going to sponsor them into your business. Most
network marketers start babbling on about how great their company is, what
wonderful products they have, and how lucrative the compensation plan is.

It’s one of the reasons they fail. Your prospects don’t care about any of that.
Your prospects are only concerned with satisfying their wants and solving their
problems.

It may be glaringly obvious to you that your opportunity is the answer to their
prayers, but if you’ve simply jumped in and started telling them all about it, they
won’t even hear you. You sound like every other pushy sales person they’ve
ever met.

So, “What do I say to get them to understand?” you may ask. Well, you ask
questions to find out what their needs and wants are. The questions you ask
should generally be focused around 3 main areas.

        1. Income (or lack of adequate income)
2. Job dissatisfaction
3. Time freedom

In each case, you are looking to uncover problems in these areas and agitate their
pain a little bit, so you can offer your opportunity as a solution.

But first, set the stage for your presentation. The last thing you want are a bunch
of distractions. Politely ask your prospect to turn off the TV. Bring a children’s
movie with you on a DVD. If they have young children, ask if the kids can watch it
in another room.

Once things have settled down, thank your prospect for agreeing to meet with you,
and reassure them that you will not go over the amount of time you told them
you would need. Unless of course, they have lots of questions and invite you to stay.
This shows your prospects that you are a professional and that you respect their time.

Start by asking what motivated them to meet with you. You will probably get a
superficial answer, but it might give you some insight into one or more problem areas.
OK, let’s get into some of the specific questions to ask:

INCOME:

“Is the income you’re making now enough to do all the things you want to do?”
They will probably say no. If they say yes, go to the next topic - job dissatisfaction.

“Could you tell me more about that?”
Let them elaborate.

“What are some of the things you would do if you had more income?”
Typical answers include retire, send kids to college, take vacations, get out of debt.
Let them visualize a better future than what they’re now facing.

“Do you have a plan in place to be able to do x,y,z?”
They usually don’t, or it isn’t adequate.

“What will happen if you can’t do x,y,z?”
Answers will vary, but it isn’t pleasant.

“How does that make you feel?”
Let them get emotional about not being able to solve their problem.

JOB DISSATISFACTION:

“Are you happy with your work?”
Usually they are not. If they are, move on to time freedom.

“What is it that you don’t like about your job?” or
“Could you explain more about that?”
Let them tell you everything they don’t like about their work.

“What would you do if you didn’t have to go into work every day?”
Again, get them to imagine a happier future.

“What’s going to happen if you don’t change your job situation?”
Back to the miserable present.

“How do feel about that?”
Agitate that pain a bit.

Are you beginning to see a pattern here?

TIME FREEDOM

“What are some of the things you enjoy doing in your spare time?”
They will list some things. Family time, hobbies, community activities, etc.

“Do you get enough time to (spend with your kids, work on your boat, etc.)?”
They usually don’t.

“Would you elaborate on that, please?”
Get them to thinking about how bad their situation is.

“What would you do if you had more spare time?”
Get them to thinking about how their life could be different.

“What happens when you can’t do x,y,z?”
Let them express their frustration.

“How does that make you feel?”
Pour a little salt in the wound.

Asking these kinds of open ended questions allows your prospects to see just how
much they need to take action if they want their situation to improve. This sort of
presentation is almost therapeutic for your prospect, and by listening attentively,
your prospect understands that you really do care about them and their situation.

When they know you care, and they trust you, they are far more likely to buy from you.
By taking a few minutes to find out what your prospect’s needs are, you can tailor your
presentation to show benefits that fill their needs and wants.

Using these principles can help you move your sponsoring success up several levels.
I learned how to do this in Hilton Johnson’s Selling by Attraction. You, too
can learn how to use these simple steps. Just click on the following text link to sign up

If you’ve been in network marketing longer than a week, there’s a pretty good
chance you’ve heard of the 3-foot rule. But in case you haven’t, it goes something
like this:

Talk to everyone within 3 feet of you about your business opportunity and products.
Everyone - people at the gym, co-workers, people in the checkout line at the store-
Everyone.

If you’ve tried this, you’ve probably experienced some pretty serious rejection.
People’s eyes glaze over, and they can’t wait to get away from you. And those are
the polite ones. Sound familiar?

But it doesn’t have to be this way. The 3-foot rule, if used correctly can be an
excellent prospecting tool. And, if you do it right, people don’t even know they’re
being prospected! It’s really pretty easy once you know how. So here goes -

Have a name tag professionally made with 2 lines on it. Your name goes in the first
line. In the second line, put a generic title like “Income Specialist” if you want to
talk to people about your opportunity. Use something product-related in the second
line if your goal is to sell product. Something like “Health Counselor” or “Skin
Therapist,” depending upon your product line.

Wear this nametag while you’re out running errands. It will arouse curiosity. When
someone asks you what an “Income Specialist” is or what you do, DO NOT start
telling them about your business opportunity. Give them a very generic, benefit-
oriented answer, something like this:

“You know how people are struggling to pay their mortgages and get out of credit
card debt? How everyone is worried about the economy right now and hoping to
keep their jobs, or been laid off? I help people with these kinds of problems by
showing them how to build another income working part-time from home.”

Then shut up. Keep taking groceries out of your cart or whatever you were doing
when they asked. If they are interested in knowing more, they will ask you.

The same goes if you’re trying to interest them in a product. When they ask you
what a “Skin Therapist” is, you give them a generic benefit-oriented answer:

“You know how more and more people are looking older than they really are because
of sun-damaged skin and chemicals in our environment? Well, I teach people how to
counteract these harmful effects and keep their skin looking young and healthy.”

When the prospect says, “I’d like to know more about that,” you tell them that you
really don’t have the time to get into it right now, but get their contact information,
and you’ll call them and set a time to talk with them about it.

This is very powerful. They have just asked you for more information. They want to
hear what you have to say. Also, by not telling them all about it immediately, you
avoid looking needy and coming across as a pushy sales person.

By using the 3-foot rule this way, you will talk to fewer people, but the people you
talk to will be far more interested in what you have to say. You just did some “pre-
qualifying,” but that’s a whole other topic.

Just so you know, I didn’t think this stuff up all by myself. I learned this technique
and a whole lot more from Hilton Johnson’s Recruitng Machine. Check it out,
by clicking on the following text link, and sign up for your free coaching call from the
expert’s expert. You may never need to buy leads again!

To your success,
